VIS AND COMM: notes on healthy and safety with cameras and flash

Notes on health and Safety when working with Digital Cameras
  1. Only use an AC adapter or battery charger that is designed specifically for your make and model of camera. Could void your warranty and cause damage to the camera. It also could end up causing a fire, cause the battery to short-circuit.
  2.  Do not try to fix the interior components of the camera yourself. Simply opening the camera case could result in permanent damage to the camera.
  3.  Make sure any cables you use with your camera -- AC adapters and USB cables especially -- are free from cuts. could cause a fire.
  4.  Remove the batteries from the camera if not using the camera for a week or more, especially if the batteries are empty. Fully discharged batteries are more likely to leak acid, which would damage the camera.
  5.  If the camera does not charge properly or seems to "start and stop" when charging, consider sending in the camera in for repair. You may have a short inside the camera, which could cause damage to the camera.
  6.  Do not expose the camera to extreme temperatures or water. Avoid exposing the camera to sudden changes in temperature, could cause condensation inside the camera body, leading to damage to circuitry or the LCD.
  7. Avoid storing the camera for extended periods of time in areas exposed to strong magnetic fields or electromagnetic radiation. Such exposures could damage the LCD or affect the camera's circuitry.
  8. If you own a DSLR camera that you won't be using for a few weeks, remove the lens from the camera body. Replace the caps on both ends of the lens, as well as on the camera body, to protect all of the components during storage. Clean the lens before storing it, just to make sure it'll be ready for use.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Christmas time!
Hurrah for cheesy post titles. Anyway, so I went home last weekend as my health took a nosedive in the week and as the German Christmas Market started last Thursday I knew I'd have to visit during my stay at home. As per usual it was heaving and I was going for a meal after so didn't stop for any food mainly just pushed around the crowd aha! I took a couple of photos of Birmingham's christmas lights etc though. Back in London now but literally going home for christmas in two weeks, my friend and my sister are coming down next week so that should make it go a lot quicker and then the week after my moms coming down to take me home but she's staying for a couple of days so we can do some christmas shopping and were also going to see The Lion King at the Lyceum I literally can't wait ha! Really excited for December just need to get all this work out the way first! On that note, I'll leave you with a picture of my cat Daisy.

happy christmas!

Here are some of the lovely gifts I recieved for Christmas this year, I hadn't asked for much so had a lot of surprises which was nice. Firstly the Fifi Lapin book from my sister, various perfumes from my friends and mom and dad, various jewellery, underwear and clothing. I love this coat and cannot wait to take it out, I'm going shopping on Tuesday so I'm going to wear it then. I also recieved a Fisheye camera from my dad which I can't wait to experiment with!
I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and New Year!

in the basement people, in the basement

I just took a few photos today of recent purchases, here is the ASOS dress that I posted about a couple of weeks ago, I absolutely adore it!:)
I also recently purchased this ruby ring from ASOS for only six pounds, I really love rings at the moment, I never used to wear them much and when I did I'd end up taking them off. I love that crucifix one which a fair few people have at the moment. The wing ring isn't mine, it is my sisters but still it's gorgeous;)
Lastly the skull cameo necklace like Alexa Chungs Iosselliani one, it was cheap from ebay and I love it!
However, I still have Christmas presents to buy! Oh dear...

the photos on my wall

I finally got all my cameras developed and so have all my pictures from my trips to Paris and London and a couple of random ones aha
I want to put them on my computer but below is evidence that my scanner is the most worthless piece of shit to grace the earth, so tomorrow I'm going to try and scan them at my boyfriends house instead:)

in my room she'll get to you

I found the top picture recently (on weheartit) and was inspired by the idea, so decided to do my own photo collage on my wall using various photos from the internet that I liked and polaroids from Paris. I really like it, I like adding things to my room that make it like kind of personalised lol.
But anyway, whilst I was there I decided to take some more pictures of my room, they're not very good as my rooms so small and baring in mind all I have is a rubbishy cheap digital camera (dslr on christmas list?;D)

Paris, Je'Taime

In the holidays I went to Paris with my mom (not the greatest place to go with your mom but still) for about four days. It was really lovely, but it all looked much better at night aha. It kind of surprised me when I was there as it wasn't what I was expecting, I was expecting model-like girls with gorgeous clothes and beautiful Parisian boys, my expectations were probably a little too high. The city as a whole though was beautiful and had plenty of Zara's which I have fallen in love with recently aha. I don't have many photos because I took mine on disposable and polaroid so they need to be developed yet but yeah, if you've never been to Paris, gogogo!
