POP!

Design, Culture, Fashion

Featuring at the Fashion and Textile museum is a retrospective look at British design, culture and fashion spanning across the 1960s, 1970's and 1980's. Focusing on these three eras as they seem to be those that have influenced modern day the most.
The exhibition takes up the entire museum space and goes through in chronological order. There is a small room upstairs (supported by High street label Oasis) featuring famous prints from the chosen eras including Richard Avedons famous portraits of the Beatles.
I loved the 60's part as I've always been a fan of the era and I think its influenced today more than anything before with music and fashion etc.
Personal highlights were the 60's sections and this amazing studded leather jacket from the 1980s.
It gave a great insight in to the time with overhead music it felt like you were delving back in to the past, especially in the 50's room set with added jukebox!
The museum also offered workshops and exclusive tours for the exhibition, which would be really interesting!
